DemRepub_Sept 2008.pngFor once there is some bi-partisan agreement on an issue.  :-)

Both Sen. McCain and Sen. Obama have used their campaign resources to get their supporters to help that Gulf Coast region in need.

Both have used text messaging to get the word out.

Technology is changing the world politics too.

Good to see that in times of crisis there is no time for politics.

If you or someone you know is about to create their own web site for personal or business purposes it must be set up to go live on the web.

If you don't buy your own servers to do this you have to go through a web hosting company.

I ran across a site that rates web hosting companies.

Thought the site would be helpful and informative.

You knew it had to happen.

You use your cell phone to check your email, take pictures, get voice messages, and surf the web.

Now you can use your cell phone to bank online.

Of course this is only the beginning, and you can expect the technology to continue to expand to meet the demand and needs of every consumer.

Definition:
A message given to a Web browser by a Web server.

The main purpose of cookies is to identify users and possibly prepare customized Web pages for them.

The name cookie derives from UNIX objects called magic cookies.

These are tokens that are attached to a user or program and change depending on the areas entered by the user or program.

Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for TechTerm_Image 2008.pngHave you ever wondered what does HTTP:// means?

Definition:  Short for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol, the underlying protocol used by the World Wide Web.

HTTP defines how messages are formatted and transmitted, and what actions Web servers and browsers should take in response to various commands.

For example, when you enter a URL in your browser, this actually sends an HTTP command to the Web server directing it to fetch and transmit the requested Web page.

The debate over the effectiveness of laptops in school classrooms continues everyday.

In the State of Maine, the realization of such a plan is being put to the test.  Presently, the state is providing all middle school students with laptops.

The use of this technology as an educational tool will be a continuing area of interest for all of us.

One thing is for sure, how our kids and how we learn will never be the same.

Postcard_August 2008.gif

Traditionally, August is the vacation month.  With the use of technology we can communicate by email and text almost instantly.

It almost makes you wonder . . . why even go on vacation?

In the U.K., it seems that technology may have helped inspire people to communicate the "old school" way.  The postcard is the new hot item to send.  Simple and very direct.

In a world that has become increasing isolated and cold.

It is good to know that not everyone has lost that personal touch.

Happy and Safe Travels.

I will be looking for my postcard from you in the mail!  :-)

Caution_July 2008.jpgAre you looking down getting ready to send that important text message then . . . BOOM . . . you run right into that brick wall?

Doctors are saying that you are not alone in getting hurt while texting.

It seems that folks are getting injured more by not paying closer attention while communicating.

Be careful.
