DemRepub_Sept 2008.pngFor once there is some bi-partisan agreement on an issue.  :-)

Both Sen. McCain and Sen. Obama have used their campaign resources to get their supporters to help that Gulf Coast region in need.

Both have used text messaging to get the word out.

Technology is changing the world politics too.

Good to see that in times of crisis there is no time for politics.

You knew it had to happen.

You use your cell phone to check your email, take pictures, get voice messages, and surf the web.

Now you can use your cell phone to bank online.

Of course this is only the beginning, and you can expect the technology to continue to expand to meet the demand and needs of every consumer.

My new show deals with the issue of our dependence on Electronic Mail or as we all call it, EMAIL!

Recently, America Online (AOL) released the findings of their 4th Annual Email Addiction Survey, and some of the results about our use and need for email was very interesting.

Do you have an email addiction?

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the America Online Corporate Offices and speak with Erin Gifford of AOL Corporate Communications to discuss the results of their Annual Survey and other tech issues.

"TALKING TECHNOLOGY WITH LEROY JONES, JR."

TOPIC: EMAIL ADDICTION

Postcard_August 2008.gif

Traditionally, August is the vacation month.  With the use of technology we can communicate by email and text almost instantly.

It almost makes you wonder . . . why even go on vacation?

In the U.K., it seems that technology may have helped inspire people to communicate the "old school" way.  The postcard is the new hot item to send.  Simple and very direct.

In a world that has become increasing isolated and cold.

It is good to know that not everyone has lost that personal touch.

Happy and Safe Travels.

I will be looking for my postcard from you in the mail!  :-)

Caution_July 2008.jpgAre you looking down getting ready to send that important text message then . . . BOOM . . . you run right into that brick wall?

Doctors are saying that you are not alone in getting hurt while texting.

It seems that folks are getting injured more by not paying closer attention while communicating.

Be careful.

Make sure you look up and don't run into the wall!

If you ever wondered how technology is making a impact in every aspect of our lives, there is now written confirmation of how our world is changing.

Recently, Merriam-Webster updated their dictionary to include new tech words such as webinar, malware, and netroots.

Look forward to seeing these words in my Tech Terms postings in the future.

Just think about all of the modern technology that you will be using today.

Cooking and still burning up food on your new modern gas grill.  :-)

Listening to music downloaded on your iPod that you place into your iHome.  So you can listen to all of your "old school" jams!  :-)

Calling or sending text messages to folks on your new iPhone to ask them to bring the stuff you forgot to pick up at the store yesterday. :-)

There are so many more things that will touch your life today as you celebrate this day of our country's Independence.

Just remember that the most important thing you can do today is to enjoy the day with all of your family, friends, and love ones.

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!

Mandela_June 2008.jpg

Did you know that you can send your birthday wishes by text to former South African President Nelson Mandela, who is turning 90 years old this year?

They have set up international service that will allow you to express your best wishes to Mr. Mandela.

Once again proving how technology is changing how we communicate everyday.
