Are you looking down getting ready to send that important text message then . . . BOOM . . . you run right into that brick wall?
Doctors are saying that you are not alone in getting hurt while texting.
It seems that folks are getting injured more by not paying closer attention while communicating.
Be careful.![]()
Make sure you look up and don't run into the wall!

Have you ever dropped your phone in the water?
Then realize that you did not get the protection plan for the phone, which meant that you would be on the hook financially to replace it.
Of course, in our present high tech world someone had to invent a product to deal with this issue.
Looks like some folks have figured out a way to protect your phone with a splash proof coating.
Looks like an interesting idea and product.
Well . . . Well . . . What will they think of next? :-)

For all of you who love audio books. Things are changing.
The end is near for books on cassette tape.
So hold on to those books on tape at least for nostalgia purposes.
Like the elimination of my beloved 8-Track tapes, the beat of technology keeps moving on.

Just ran across this very cool site for all of you music lovers.
It's called "Mix Turtle", and it is yet another example of how technology has changed how we listen to music.
It is a free online music search tool, and the list of music available is incredible.
Besides any site that gives me the chance to listen to some my favorite "old school" bands like, "Con Funk Shun", "Mass Production", and my all time favorite, "Heatwave" is cool with me.
When was the last time you rode the "Groove Line"? :-)

The way we protect our computers from online viruses is about to change.
Like everything else on the web, technology must change to meet the challenges that we all face everyday.
With millions of attacks daily on ISPs, corporations, governments, and personal networks around the world folks are working to keep up with those who seek to disrupt and shut down the World Wide Web.

With all of our new technology, how we secure our personal and private information has become very important.
This means we all have to create passwords to protect our personal and private information.
For most people this mandatory creation of passwords has become job in itself. At this point there seems to be no new technology to solve this problem.
So for now you have to continue to create and remember your passwords.
Good luck!!! :-)
So do you remember all of your passwords?

Just so you know if your Parents or Grandparents send you an email, you better reply quickly.
They most certainly expect you to get back to them sooner rather than later. :-)

Back in the day, when I had to walk 10 miles in a blizzard to school, who would have ever believed that one day you would be able to turn on a computer and still be able to make it to class.
Now you don't even have to leave your home or change your clothes to go to class. Going to school online is now a reality.
Technology has and continues to change how we are educating ourselves everyday.
Let's hope that continued innovation continues to opens doors to learning for everyone.

If you ever wondered how technology is making a impact in every aspect of our lives, there is now written confirmation of how our world is changing.
Recently, Merriam-Webster updated their dictionary to
include new tech words such as webinar, malware, and netroots.
Look forward to seeing these words in my Tech Terms postings in the future.

For all my talk about texting your friends and family. It seems that most folks don't even use the text feature on their cell phones. A recent survey found that most people don't even text.
Go figure.
Hmmm . . . I guess that is why there will be an even greater need for "Talking Technology with Leroy Jones, Jr." in the future! :-)
Wait a minute. Maybe I can change the name of my site.
How about . . . "Leroy Jones, Jr. the Tech Guru"! :-)

Just think about all of the modern technology that you will
be using today.
Cooking and still burning up food on your new modern gas grill. :-)
Listening to music downloaded on your iPod that you place
into your iHome. So you can listen to
all of your "old school" jams! :-)
There are so many more things that will touch your life
today as you celebrate this day of our country's
Just remember that the most important thing you can do today is to enjoy the day with all of your family, friends, and love
ones.
HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!
There seems to be some question about the commitment of the makers of all this technology to help save the environment.
A recently released report by Greenpeace has rated the efforts of these companies.
Green is good, and we can all hope that these numbers spurs those doing well to keep up the good work and those who are not to do better.

There is an increase in the number of data security breaches all across the nation.
Hackers are increasingly targeting not only banks and government agencies, but also schools and health care organizations.
As more of our personal information becomes digitized we will probably continue to see a battle to find ways to protect this important information.
