Can you believe it! I never thought I would see this day.
Finally we have solution to all those random remote controls sitting around your house. It seems that that Sony, who is a main player in electronic consumer industry has cut a deal with the Cable TV Folks to get rid of those dreaded "cable boxes".
Don't you remember how you had to position those cable boxes on top of your 17 or 19-inch TV just so they would not fall off? Oh . . . those were the days! :-)
So how do I survive now with one less remote? I think every man in America will struggle with this loss, and I think EVERY WOMAN will rejoice!!!
HAAAAAAA!!!

Is it just me, but I don't have a MP-3 player. Never mind that I am still holding out for the future return of 8-Track Tapes. There is so much new technology that it almost impossible to include every item or gadget into your daily life.
It seems that MP-3 players are about to "get played" like my beloved 8-Track Tapes.
Kicked to the curb! :-)

With all of this new technology there is always someone scheming and scamming to take advantage of you.
Just found about a scam that is based on gaining control of your Instant Messaging (IM) contact lists. Once they gain control they begin trying to get access to all of your personal and financial information. When I came across this story about this particular scam I wanted make sure to share it with you.

It seems that instead of calling someone many folk now just text them. It's a quick and easy way to communicate without having to make a phone call. Not too long ago the idea of sending text messaging was an effort to stay hip. :-) It seemed to me that the idea of using text messaging was an activity for young people.
I have come to realize that I was wrong about this service and application. It has changed how people of all ages communicate. Once again, as with all technology the use and applications has expanded.
Check out this article I found on expanded tricks and tips that can help grown folks be more productive and stress-free. :-)

In Georgia, local election officials are recruiting more young people to work at local voting precincts. The goal is to increase the number of computer literate election workers.
This is another clear sign of how technology continues to change how we live and participate in our world everyday.

Things are tough around the world. The higher cost of food both in the U.S. and globally has lead to stresses and strains on our food supplies. I think this an interesting use of our modern technology to deal with an age old problem . . . feeding the World.

The catastrophic earthquake in China has created enormous human loss and suffering. My prayers and thoughts go out to everyone affected.
So it is not surprising that our global technological world has been affected. Thought the articles below would show some of the issues being discussed.

In the aftermath of the bad weather in the Midwest and the South, including my home state of North Carolina, it was very clear that the improved weather technology and its ability to predict storms has changed the way folks are notified and how the stories are reported.
The improved technology has helped to save lives, but it has lead broadcasters to err on the side of caution. Ironically, this has many TV viewers upset at the interruptions of their favorite shows by what many see as over-the-top notification.

WiFi technology can be used to save lives; this is an interesting twist on the use of wireless technology. I know too many people that could have used this type of technology to survive.
I was looking at TV, and once again I saw the "Dockers" pants commercial with a song that makes me want to go buy some pants and move to California. Since all of my friends know I don't like spending money or flying, I decided to look up the song and the artist.
As I began the search it hit me how much technology has changed how we listen to music and get information. Technology has become so much a part of our lives. It is becoming hard to imagine how we could live without it. Instead of having no idea on how to find out about the song or the artist, I can now get online and find out both. For Marlena Shaw, who is the artist, I bet her record and concert sales are going to explode. You can count me in as a new fan.
Check out the song, "California Soul", and the artist, Marlena Shaw (of course, she has a MySpace Page) . . . very smooth and very cool!!!
See you in Cali! :-)

Sometimes even technology can save you money.
If you are like me with gas prices moving towards $4.00, you are constantly on the look out for the best price for Gas. Well check out this site that I found called, GasBuddy.com. The site is set up to help folks find the cheapest gas prices all across the country. Check it out, and save some money.
You know with any good . . . comes the bad. So with
all the excitement surrounding our new wireless world, you better believe there
are some that see this new technology as a way to take advantage.
Thought
this video posting on securing your WiFi Network would be helpful.
Beware!!!

Check out this link to the Wifi Radio Review. It is an interesting mix of information and updates on the world of WiFi Radio.
Hmmm . . . I wonder if there is a place for a WiFi Radio Show called "Talking Technology with Leroy Jones, Jr.".
We will see . . . :-)
